Rules for NMR Use and Sign-up

Note: this sign-up software is primitive and may allow you to circumvent these rules. Follow these rules and not what the software permits! All exceptions must be approved by John Decatur. Note: overnights begin at midnight on the 300nb and the 400 and at 10 PM on the 300wb.

Rules for Bruker 400
Time Maximum Use Period Advance Sign-up Period

10am -8pm 2 ten minute slots 2 hours
8pm-12 midnight 2 hours 36 hours
12 midnight-8am no limit 36 hours

Definition of Advance Sign-up Period: You may not sign-up for time more than X hours in advance.

Definition of Maximum Use Period: Largest consecutive block of time that may be reserved. Non-consective blocks with a total time that exceeds the Maximum Use Period is permitted within reason.

When signing up accross a time slot rule boundary, the lower maximum limit is in force. What this means, for instance, is that on the 300wb you cannot sign from 3 PM until 8 PM since at 3 PM, the maximum use is 3 hours.
